International Metropolis Conference
The 25th International Metropolis Conference – one of the leading conferences on migration – was held in Berlin at the beginning of September. Representatives of government, academia, civil society, and the business sector from all over the world came together to discuss various migration issues. The conference focused on key topics that have shaped migration trends in recent years, including the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and technological developments. In the panel on attitudes towards asylum seekers, CIMI’s founding chairman Arnon Mantver presented the Israeli context and discussed the Israeli legal framework and the challenges caused by the fact that migrants do not have any status in Israel.
