We were delighted to host a Zoom meeting with the Israeli ambassador to Thailand, Orna Sagiv, and the then head of the Migrant Worker Administration at PIBA, Adv. Inbal Mashash, to discuss the situation of Thai workers in lieu of the war. Ambassador Sagiv reported on the way the embassy has been operating since October 7th, the quick response and assistance on the Israeli side, and the decision to visit the families of the murdered workers. Adv. Mashash reported on PIBA’s presence on the ground right from the start of the war, the upheaval in the labor market, and her confidence in the new bilateral agreements with Sri Lanka and India.
