Thousands of new agricultural workers arrive from Sri Lanka and the restriction on bringing agricultural workers from Thailand has been lifted
In the agricultural sector, more than 2,000 workers have arrived from Sri Lanka and been assigned to farms throughout Israel. Under the auspices of PIBA, CIMI’s staff supports the workers, provides them with updated information, and fields questions and complaints, which are quickly dealt with. The restriction on bringing in new workers from Thailand has been lifted, and the project to bring them to Israel through the bilateral agreement will shortly be resumed. CIMI is responsible for coordinating the recruitment process with the Thai Ministry of Labour and for welcoming the workers at Ben Gurion airport.
