CIMI bows its head in memory of the 76 migrants who were murdered in the events of October 7th and afterwards.

On October 7th, 2023, approximately 5,000 migrants were in Gaza Envelope: migrant workers employed in agriculture, construction, and nursing, students participating in agricultural internship programs, as well as asylum seekers. Among those murdered on that day were 70 migrants who were citizens of Thailand, Nepal, China, the Philippines, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Moldova, Eritrea, and Sudan. Subsequently, six additional workers from Thailand and India were killed in the north of the country.

All of them came to Israel hoping for livelihood, learning, a better future – and were brutally murdered far from their homes and families.

Each and every one of them left behind families, loved ones, and whole lives that will never be complete. May their memory be a blessing.
