Bipin Joshi, 23, was a Nepali student who came to Israel as part of an agricultural training program. He arrived only a few weeks before the horrific day of the attack and worked at Kibbutz Alumim, near Gaza, driven by a dream to study agriculture and bring the knowledge he gained back to help his community in Nepal. He was a talented student, always smiling, and a music lover.

On the day of the massacre, when Hamas terrorists infiltrated the kibbutz, Bipin displayed extraordinary courage. According to testimonies from his friends, as they hid in a shelter, Bipin managed to throw back a grenade that had been tossed inside. However, another grenade exploded, causing him and others to lose consciousness. The last known sign of life from Bipin was CCTV footage from Shifa Hospital on the day of the attack. Since then, he had been missing and presumed dead. On October 14, 2025, his body was identified. It is believed that he was murdered in captivity during the early months of the war.

We deeply mourn the loss of Bipin, the death of his fellow students who were murdered that day, and the pain of his distant family in Nepal and his friends in Israel, who never stopped hoping.

As of now, the bodies of three other foreign workers – Joshua Mollel (Tanzania), Sudthisak Rinthalak (Thailand), and Sontaya Oukarsri (Thailand) – remain held by Hamas.

We call on the Government of Israel and the entire international community to demand that Hamas uphold its obligations and immediately return the bodies of all those still held in Gaza.
