Arnon Mantver recently resigned his position as founding chairman of CIMI, the organization he established 27 years ago and has headed ever since, although he will continue to be involved in our work. A veteran, experienced manager in the social services, he has, for decades, been a leading light in the field of migration and integration in Israel. His varied career includes several key positions, including director general of the Department of Aliya and Absorption at the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and CEO of JDC-Israel (“the Joint”).

In honor of his retirement, CIMI’s Hilla Gutrayman and Adi Markovitz-Ottervanger met with him for a fascinating conversation, during which he shared with them the professional and personal paths that have shaped his worldview. He talked about the challenges and successes he has met with and, above all, the unique goal he set himself when he established CIMI as an organization aimed at addressing migration in its broadest sense and bringing the Israeli experience into the global arena.
