Pini, who has served in recent years as a member of CIMI’s Executive Board, is a former diplomat who held a wide range of positions in Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His most recent role was Deputy Director General, Head of the Bureau for Multilateral, Global, and Strategic Affairs. Previously, he served as Deputy Director General for Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Eurasia and Russia, as well as for Latin America.

Among his many positions, Pini served as Israel’s Ambassador to Turkey, Chile, and Colombia. After retiring from the Foreign Ministry, he lectured for several years at the Technion on defense exports as a component of Israeli diplomacy and worked as a strategic advisor to companies on international business affairs. Pini has received several awards and decorations from the governments of Chile, Colombia, and Lithuania.

Since joining CIMI in May 2021, Pini immediately connected with the organization’s vision and mission, contributing his extensive international experience to promote migration issues in Israel and to advance CIMI’s activities, particularly in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies, and international organizations.

Pini succeeds CIMI’s founding Chairperson, Mr. Arnon Mantver, who has stepped down from his role.

All of us at CIMI – the Board, staff, volunteers, and partners – wish Pini great success in his new position!
