Pini Avivi has been a member of our board for several years. He is a retired ambassador who served in a wide range of positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ending his service as senior deputy director general in charge of Multilateral, Global and Strategic Affairs. Prior to that, Pini was deputy director of the Central European, Eastern European, Euro-Asian and Russian, and Latin American division. During his years at the Ministry, Pini served as the Israeli Ambassador to Turkey, Chile, and Colombia. Upon his retirement, he lectured for several years at the Technion on security export as a component of Israeli diplomacy and was a strategic adviser to companies on international business. Pini has received awards of excellence and honors from the governments of Chile, Colombia, and Lithuania.
Identifying with the organization’s goals, Pini joined CIMI in May 2021. Thanks to his extensive experience in the international arena, he has been able to leverage CIMI’s work and the field of migration in Israel, particularly vis-à-vis the Foreign Ministry, international organizations, and embassies.
Pini is replacing our outgoing founding chairman, Arnon Mantver, who resigned his position in July 2025.
We welcome Pini and wish him – and ourselves – success in our endeavors.
